ECA (Emergency Care Assistant) Recruitment – Apply Now!

Event Paramedics Ltd are currently looking to recruit qualified Emergency Care Assistants to assist with our ambulance contracts within the south of the country. Applications may also be considered from those wishing to obtain this qualification. Please see the Careers section our website for more details.   

Emergency Care Assistants (ECAs) are a new role of frontline staff on NHS and NHS approved private provider emergency ambulances within the UK. They respond to emergency calls as part of a double-manned-ambulance (DMA) emergency crew. Their role consists of assisting qualified Paramedics and emergency medical Technicians with their duties. They will be required to help move patients safely, observe patient vital signs and accurately provide, obtain and record information from carers or others at the scene. The ECA role is an excellent starting point for those wanting to pursue a career as a Paramedic or other health care professional.

After completing and qualifying on an approved driving course ECAs also drive a range of ambulance vehicles under normal and emergency (blue light) circumstances, carrying out checks to vehicles at the start of and during each shift to make sure they are clean, fuelled and appropriately stocked. ECAs need to know how to use all the medical and life support equipment carried on vehicles that is appropriate to their skill level and how to assist a state registered Paramedic.

EP Acquires Textile & Embroidery Firm!

Event Paramedics Ltd has added Premier Logos Ltd to it's group. The company was acquired by us in March 2010. Over the past six years this company has produced our high quality ambulance uniforms and will now, amongst many other products, develop the uniform line further for both the NHS and Private Ambulance sector. In addition it will launch a design-it-online website in April where customers can create their own printed T-shirts and other promotional items including pictures etc with a 24-hour no-minimum-order turnaround time. EP Welcomes Ginny, Our New PA.

Ginny joined our company as PA to the directors in November 2009 and she is the first point of contact at our Head Office in Godmanchester.

She has over twenty years’ experience of working in secretarial/administrative roles, including several consecutive roles through Reed Employment with Cambridgeshire Constabulary and a permanent post at John White & Co Solicitors. In these roles she was entrusted with highly confidential and sensitive work.

 

Amongst other things, Ginny is currently designing our new Staff Handbook and developing time-saving administrative procedures in order to make life easier for everyone.

In 2004 Ginny graduated as a mature student with a 2:1 BA (Hons) Degree in English/History and her passions include writing fiction and researching family histories as well as developing a web based project aimed at encouraging children and adults to develop basic curriculum skills. Married for twenty seven years, she has two sons and four contented cats.

New 59 Plate Mondeo Added To Fleet

Although our Nissan Primera fleet has been popular with our crews, it has to be said that our Ford Mondeo Estates and Saloons continue to be the most popular! In order to maintain a smart and reliable vehicle stock for the benefit of our patients, clients and staff alike, we have today taken delivery of another brand new 59 plate mondeo saloon 2.0 Diesel TDCi Zetec. This now brings our Ford 'stable' to 7 cars.

The vehicle will be taken to EVO Ltd shortly for livery and commisioning as a Rapid Response Vehicle and following this it will be delivered to our operational base at Southampton where it will go to work on our 999 RRV contract with South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust.

5 x New ZOLL Defibs on SCAS contract

As part of our ongoing quality commitment to re-invest for the benefit of our patients, staff and clients, we are pleased to announce the purchase today of five brand new Zoll PRO defibrillators from ONCALL Medical Ltd. These have only recently been released by ZOLL (The industry leader in pre-hospital defibrillators) and are at the cutting edge of this technology. They allow for both semi-automatic and manual operation in both child and adult cardiac rescue, as well as three-lead monitoring with an exceptionally high quality ECG display. The latest generation Lithium rechargable battery packs offer unrivalled performance and reliability. All five units, plus carry cases, block chargers, and a spare battery for each, will be delivered to our Southampton Operations Centre next week for use on our Rapid Response cars (RRV's) on 999 contract with South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust (SCAS)

 


New 09 Mondeo Est. Now In Service

Our brand new 09 Mondeo Estate has now been collected from EVO following its conversion to a rapid response vehicle. The vehicle will be delivered to our Southampton operations centre within the next week or so where it will go to work on our 999 contract with South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust (SCAS)

Brand New 09 Mondeo Estate Added To Fleet

On Friday 10th July 2009 we took delivery of our first brand new RRV. The dedication of our Technicians, Paramedics, and Officers and our resolve as a company to put patient care and our clients above all else has allowed us to make this commitment to quality. The 09 Mondeo 2.0 diesel Estate TDCi will be handed over to EVO ltd http://www.evoltd.com/index.html on Monday 13th July 2009 where it will be commissioned with the very latest in emergency equipment and graphics. Following this, the vehicle will be delivered to our Southampton NHS 999 Operations Centre, initially for use on a special pilot project we are running for SCAS, and thereafter to our Southampton 999 fleet. The addition of this vehicle makes our RRV (Rapid Response Vehicle) total count, 16.

Mondeo Estate RRV Added To Fleet

On Monday 22nd June 2009 we purchased a Mondeo Estate TDCi to add to our Southampton fleet (South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust Contract) This vehicle is currently at EVO limited, Nr Luton, being equipped with it's ambulance livery and the very latest in emergency service vehicle technology. The vehicle is anticipated for delivery to our Southampton operations centre by Monday 20th July 2009.
